Vanessa Matthys
​

Vanessa Matthys graduated as a Master in jazz singing with David Linx at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She also studied at the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse” in Paris for one year as an Erasmus exchange student.


She became a finalist in the international jazz vocal competition in Riga, Latvia (2013) and the Dinant Jazz competition (2009).
 

Vanessa had the opportunity to collaborate on stage and in the studio with numerous jazz artists such as the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Dirk Brossé, Bill Carrothers, The Keystone Bigband, Drew Gress, Ivan Paduart, Frank Deruytter, Jan De Haas, …


Vanessa is a vocal teacher at the Conservatory of Kortrijk (Belgium).
 

She also worked as a reseacher at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp (Belgium). Together with Katrien Van Opstal she researched the ins and

outs of jazz vocal technique. Their book “Vocal Jazz Technique - the mixing table model” was released in January 2023. More details to be found on https://new.auurk.com/book-detail/269.
 

In 2023 Vanessa toured with a project dedicated to the late great Toots Thielemans. These pieces were live recorded with her dad, pianist Marc Matthys, at Piano’s Maene and can be found on youtube and on all

streaming platforms under the title “Time flies, sit back and enjoy.”
 

In 2024 Vanessa and pianst Ivan Paduart collaborated on a project where the American and Belgian Songbook are highlighted. They explore Belgian classics as well as own compositions and surprising arrangments of American jazzstandards, made by Vanessa.
 

In 2026 Vanesa will be touring as a member of The Brussels Vocal Project for Muziektheater LOD, for whom Nabou Claerhout composed the music.
 

In 2026 she is releasing her latest EP The Secret Vault with Vanessa Matthys Quartet.

Dominique Vantomme

Dominique Vantomme is a Belgium based pianist, keyboardist, composer and producer.

 

Originally working as a blues/jazzpianist, he has spent the past 10 years playing with numerous acts in pop, rock and jazz. He has recorded and toured as a pianist, musical director and arranger for artists such as Axelle Red, Ana Popovic, Hindi Zahra, Vaya Con Dios, Viktor Lazlo, Louisiana Red, Theresa Malenfant, An Pierlé. Creating music and sound has always been a constant factor in his life, which has resulted in several records with his bands Vegir, ROOT, Mahieu-Vantomme Quartet.

Werner Lauscher​

German bassist began his professional career as a bass-player when he was 18. His very specific groovy, swinging and melodical style can be heard on more than 40 Cd's - recordings with Charlie Mariano, Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, Rocco Granata, Joachim Kühn, Helmut Lotti, Toots Thielemann, Glenn Corneille, Boris, Jo Lemaire, Michel Bisceglia, Leon Delray (Udo Schild) and many others.

Geert Roelofs​

Geert Roelofs studied

at the Conservatory of Maastricht and took lessons from Arnoud Gerritse.

​

In ’00 Geert played at the North Sea Jazz Festival with his trio Corneille/Roelofs and  won the  Best New Talent Award for Glenn Corneille. 

He won the Jerry van Rooyen Award 2003, concert with Dado Moroni and Phillip Aerts.

From ’03 till ‘08’ he played with Il Novecento ‘Night of the Proms’, concerts, tv registrations for France 3, radio sessions with Julio Iglesias, Charles Aznavour, Patricia Kaas, Xander de Buisonjé, Jan Leyers, Paul Michiels, Sandra Kim, Zucchero, Celine Dion, Gypsy Kings, DJ Bobo, Danny Brillant, etc.
