Lis Wessberg is one of Denmark’s most distinctive jazz trombonists and composers. Her lyrical phrasing and beautiful, vocal-like tone have made her a singular presence on the Scandinavian and European jazz scene.
Her music moves freely between Nordic jazz, contemporary songwriting and cinematic soundscapes. Melody, space and sonic detail meet subtle electronics and open improvisation — intimate in scale, yet expansive in feeling.
Across a career spanning more than three decades and over 50 album appearances, Wessberg has performed with artists including Joyce Moreno, Randy Brecker, Marilyn Mazur, Hanne Boel and the DR Big Band

A deeply personal meditation on transience, love and transformation.
Featuring vocalist Veronika Rud, the music unfolds as an intimate dialogue between voice and trombone. Sea, mist, tides and birds become emotional anchors in songs that move from melancholy and memory toward openness and renewal.
The quartet’s understated foundation is expanded by Live Strings on selected tracks, adding depth without disturbing the music’s characteristic air and space.
