Vanessa Matthys obtained her Master’s degree in Jazz Vocals at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where she studied with David Linx. In addition, she spent a year studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris.
In 2011, she founded her own international jazz quartet, the Vanessa Matthys Quartet, together with Dominique Vantomme (piano), Werner Lauscher (double bass), and Geert Roelofs (drums). In 2013, she was a finalist in the International Jazz Vocal Competition in Riga, Latvia. In 2018, she launched A.L.D. – A Lucid Dream, a project that blends electronic jazz and pop, with live looping and electronics playing a central role. Their debut single “Save Me” was released in May 2020.
In 2021, Vanessa performed as a soloist with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra as part of the Swing of Unity project.
In 2022, she toured Flanders and Austria together with her father, presenting a tribute to Toots…
